Clean Sky 2 Budget

Clean Sky 1 had a total budget of roughly €1.6 billion:

  • A maximum of €800,000,000 from the European Commission (cash):

    • Up to a maximum of 50% of this for actions of the ITD Leaders
    • Up to a maximum of 25% of this for actions of the Associates
    • No less than €200m representing equal to or more than 25% for actions of Partners
       
  • In-kind contributions representing a corresponding and approximate 50% from the aeronautics industry
     

Clean Sky 2's total budget exceeds €4 billion:

  • A maximum of €1,755,000,000 (cash) from the European Commission (from the Horizon 2020 programme budget)

    • Up to a maximum of 40% of this for actions of the  IADP / ITD / TA Leaders
    • Up to a maximum of 30% of this for actions of the  Core Partners
    • No less than 30% for actions of  Partners

 

  • No less than €2,193,750,000 from the Private Members (= Leaders and Core Partners):
    • In-kind contributions towards the actions plus (cash) contributions towards the administrative costs of the JU totaling approximately €1,228,500,000
    • At least €965,250,000 from Additional Activities not included in the JTI work plan but which support the achievements of the Programme’s objectives

 

  • Contributions (in-kind) resulting from the actions of Partners who are funded according to H2020 [partial] funding rates;
     
  • Complementary and synergistic actions performed by both  members and partners enabled via ESIF funding granted and administered through the regional authorities with whom the JU cooperates
